STATEMENT

I like public art because it is big,

you can walk around in it.

In public art the viewer is in relationship with the site.

The site and the art activate the viewer on a visceral level.

When a person can move through the elements,

together a dance, slow or quick stepping.

I like art that is strong,

art that engages more than the mind.

Space that creates space.

Art that shifts the internal self,

even if so subtly that one can’t put their finger on it.

I like art that takes a stand,

presents a vision,

tells a story.

Art that can make you laugh or be contemplative,

Or see in a different way.

I like public art for all its possibilities.
